At the end of 2020, together with my British colleague, James Bunyon, and a stipendium from NRW Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, we began a journey that we have been talking about for a few years: etc - english theater cologne!
Back in the 90's I had created a theater company in Koeln called ACT! American Theatre Company of Cologne, and we produced 3 productions but it was established as an e.V. which meant a lot of unforeseen bureacracy and other things so I closed it down in the 5th year.
James and I would like to present plays and other creative projects that reflect not only the British and American cultures but also the diversity we share between us- James is a gay, middle 30's man married to a German and I'm an American, hetero, female middle 60's also married to a German. Besides theatrical productions, we hope to produce films, live events and virtual as well. Due to COVID, we are beginning in the virtual world and hope to have our first production online (along with the website) very soon. In the meantime, we would appreciate it if you would visit and LIKE our FB Page and follow us on INSTAGRAM.
We are very grateful to our State NRW and the Ministry of Culture and Science for giving us the funds to help get us started!
